More of Ji Xiaolan on TV

Loyal fans of Eloquent Ji Xiaolan, the hit TV series, will continue their fun-filled journey. The fourth installment of the drama, which tells the story of quick-witted scholar Ji Xiaolan of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), is now ready.

Scriptwriter Zou Jingzhi was accompanied by lead actors Zhang Guoli, Zhang Tielin, and Wang Gang, as well as returning lead actress Yuan Li, at a ceremony, ahead of the release. Hong Kong actress Miriam Yueng, who is a newcomer to the series, was also on hand.

The TV series has been on air for the past 10 years, earning the label "iron triangle" for its three male leads and their ability to bring in good audience ratings.

"Even now, almost every night there is a satellite TV station somewhere playing the show," said Zhang Guoli, who plays the grand scholar.

"It is the most aired TV series in China. The funny stories that take place among the lead characters are soothing entertainment for those who work hard all day and get back home late."

The latest installment of Eloquent Ji Xiaolan will be shown on Beijing TV from Dec 28.
