A new tourist route has been opened to Zushan Mountain, lying to the west of Qinhuangdao of Hebei province. The mountain sits in Qinglong (black dragon) county, and is a two-hour drive along the Jingshen Expressway.
The Zushan mountain ranges have more than 20 peaks that soar more than 1,000 m and the main peak "Heavenly Goddess Peak" stands 1,424 m above sea level.
The Zushan Tourism Development Co Ltd offers both day and two-day tours to the mountain. On the day tour, one can see the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Great Wall, take a cable car or walk through a 5 km valley that locals say is so beautiful that it feels like being in a painting.
The two-day tour adds visits to nearby scenic spots. Average temperatures hover around below 20 deg Celcius at the mountain. With a more than 95 percent tree coverage, the area is a natural "oxygen bar".
