The Israel Ballet will present two classic repertoires during the Spring Festival. The fairy tale of Cinderella unfolds with splendid stage settings in a ballroom, the forest and a small kitchen, on Jan 28-30. Jan 31 will see a collection of three pieces from the company, including Written in the Sand, Nina and Xta.

Founded in 1967 by Berta Yampolsky and Hillel Markman, who are still artistic directors, the Israel Ballet has a rich and varied repertoire in both its classical and neo-classical works.

Rafael Aguilar's Ballet Teatro Espanol will bring its famous flamenco dance show Carmen to Tianqiao Theater next week.

Based on the story and music of Bizet's masterpiece, Spanish choreographer Rafael Aguilar has created a fascinating, erotic dance drama that fuses the expressionism of modern ballet with traditional Spanish dance and sets him apart from other Spanish choreographers of classical, pure flamenco.

The Peony Pavilion, the classic Kunqu Opera, is on at the Imperial Granary, a perfect venue. The Imperial Granary was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty 600 years ago, exactly the time the Kunqu Opera was written.
