Flight attendant eludes would-be kidnappers
(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-01-07 16:20 A flight attendant in Shanghai escaped two kidnappers using the anti-hijacking training she received when preparing for the Beijing Olympic Games. Hou, a 26-year-old who works for Shanghai Airlines, was waiting for a green light when one of the kidnappers broke into her car last August. The first kidnapper forced her to pick up the second at a designated venue. The duo tied her up and forced her to give them her bankcard and its password. Hou pretended to be obedient and kept talking with them. She managed to unfasten the rope discreetly and fled the car when the kidnappers failed to keep close watch. She reported the incident to patrolling police on the street. The police used her information to apprehend the two kidnappers from Northwest China's Gansu province. They had killed a woman driver in neighboring Jiangsu province last July. The suspects are still on trial. (Law and Life Magazine) |
