Migrants workers settle custody dispute online

A court in Shiquan county, Shaanxi province, launched an online service to help two migrant workers away in other provinces settle a dispute.

A migrant worker surnamed Xu filed a lawsuit to the local court for custody of her child after her divorce in 2001.

Learning that Xu and her ex-husband were both working in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, and had no time to return for the hearing, the court sought the couple's permission to launch an online hearing.

After cyber mediation, the issue was resolved.
