As national day holiday is approaching, here list some fantastic getaways for the holiday.

Oct. 18-19 I Yantai, Shandong Grape Escape

This new China Culture Center tour hits up Chateau Changyu Castle, China's largest and oldest vineyard, situated in the fertile coastal of eastern Shandong. In addition to sampling a range of local vintages, you'll visit a seaside village where people use seaweed to construct homes, as well as the old colonial buildings in Yantai.

October | Xingcheng, Liaoning Endless Summer

It's not too late for a taste of the beach. Juhua Island is reachable only by ferry, and makes a delightful destination, especially late in the season. It’s a little treasure, perfect for hiking and picnicking and affords great views of the big, big ocean. Be sure to check out Xingcheng old town on your way back to Bejing.

Stay: The Haiyi Holiday Inn, Tel: (0429) 541-0000

October | Macau So Cirque

Suspend disbelief and enjoy the celebration of dance, movement and aerial acrobatics that is Zaia, Cirque du Soleil's first permanent Asia production, hosted at The Venetian Macao. The 90-minute spectacle features 75 international artists performing in a 1,800-seat custom-built theater. The show premiered in August and there are now 10 performances a week, suitable for people of all ages. Order tickets online, or take advantage of special Venetian packages which include accommodation, meals and Cirque tickets. Zaia marks Macau's development as Asia's newest and hottest entertainment hub. Look for Dragone, a highly-anticipated show from Paris, to open next year.
