Denzel Washington attempts to downplay his good looks

Reportedly, Denzel Washington attempted (unsuccessfully if you ask me) to downplay his good looks for his latest role in the upcoming Spike Lee heist film Inside Man.

In the film, Washington plays cop Keith Frazier who has to talk down a bank robber (the also-hot Clive Owen) when the heist goes horribly wrong and turns into a hostage situation. The two-time Oscar winner had to shave his head and add some pounds in order to play the character that Denzel describes as a “regular guy.”

And what did his wife of 22 years, Pauletta, think of his transformation into a “regular guy”? “(She’s fine) as long as I buy her something,” says the megastar. It is okay to admire, and at the same time be jealous, of Mrs Washington.

The film Inside Man also stars Jodie Foster and Willem Dafoe and opens March 24.
