Reader Question: “While Kirsten Dunst played a flirty Marie Antoinette-complete with bedroom eyes and low-cut necklines, the real teen queen was so modest that she always wore a flannel gown buttoned up to her neck while bathing!”
Could you explain “bedroom eyes”?
My comments: Someone with “bedroom eyes” has a sexy look in their eyes. “Bedroom eyes” are considered flirty, arousing and seductive. Both men and women can have “bedroom eyes”, and sometimes the look seems permanent, as if the person is not intentionally trying to appear sexy.
Take Elvis Presley for example, whose heavy-lidded stare made the girls swoon. His smoldering “bedroom eyes” helped his sex symbol status, but at times it looked as if he was sleepy. Mind you, in his later years, when he was under the influence of drugs which eventually led to his death, his “bedroom eyes” may have been the result of being high rather than trying to look sexy. His daughter Lisa Marie Presley is the spitting image of him, complete with those famous Presley “bedroom eyes”.
Another late Hollywood icon well-known for having “bedroom eyes” is Marilyn Monroe. Modern day sex symbols with “bedroom eyes” include actor Kellan Lutz from the massively successful “Twilight” films and Korean actor So Ji Sub, who was recently seen with Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi in the romantic comedy “Sophie's Revenge”.
