据报道，韩国平昌冬季奥运会申办委员会在8号宣布，韩国于9日向位于瑞士的国际奥委会提交了申办2014年冬奥会的申请。在总结申办2010年冬奥会失利的经验和教训后，平昌已再次向2014年冬季奥运会举办权发起冲击。

Pyeongchang to hand in plan for hosting 2014 winter Olympics

Pyeongchang of South Korea will submit its plan to host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Switzerland early this week.

Pyeongchang willsubmittheir detailed host plan to the IOC on Wednesday. Pyeongchang mayor Kwon Hyuck-seung and a Gangwon Province official are to depart for Lausanne, Switzerland, on Monday.

"The draft plan for the Winter Olympic covers virtually all topics of the Games, such as sports facilities, accommodations and procedures for the opening and closing events," said Kim Man-ki, a spokesman for the Pyeongchang Bid Committee.

The city, 150km east of the capital city Seoul, is competing with Salzburg, Austria, and Sochi, a town on Russia's Black Sea, which were officially put on ashortlistas candidate cities by the IOC last year.

Pyeongchang lost its bid for the 2010 Winter Olympics in 2003.

An IOC inspection delegation will visit Pyeongchang on Feb. 14-17.
