China's first D-level flight simulator put into use in Tianjin

A B737NG D-level flight simulator developed by ACCEL FLIGHT SIMULATION became operational at Tianjin Feian Aviation Training on July 17, the first such simulator available in the city.

A D-level flight simulator is the highest level flight simulator approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization. It can almost replace real aircraft pilot training, and makes sense for air safety and the development of the aviation industry, especially the aviation transport industry. All D-level flight simulators previously used in China were imported from overseas at significant expense.

ACCEL (Tianjin) Flight Simulation is a Sino-US venture. American cooperation with Chinese enterprises in developing flight simulators expresses the promise of the Chinese market and confidence in its development. Meanwhile, the B737NG D-level flight simulator fills a domestic gap in this field.

Tianjin Feian Aviation Training, funded by Haite Group with 570 million yuan ($84.2 million), has 20 thousand square meters of floorage housing eight automatic flight simulators and a suit of steward training equipment. Besides the first B737NG D-level flight simulator, Feian also has the only EC125 helicopter D-level flight simulator approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization. In the future, the company will introduce Airbus and Boeing automatic flight simulators.

Establishment of Tianjin Feian Aviation Training has enriched the aviation industry in the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone. It joins more than 50 high-end aeronautical manufacturing and maintenance projects in the zone, which had a production value of 90 billion yuan ($132.95 billion) in 2016.
