Located in the east coast of Eurasia Continent, and the southern tip of the Eastern Liaoning Peninsula, with Bohai in its northwest, Huanghai in the southeast, Dalian consists of 260 islands of different sizes. It also exceeded the industrial added value by 17.5% with 173.3billion.The total investments in fixed assets was 327.3billion, a rate which increased by 30%.With USD 40.3 billion as its international trade, the discretionary income for the dwellers from urban and rural areas per capita was 19, 090 RMB, with an increase rate of 9%; net income for the farmers per capita was 11, 190 RMB, increasing 14%.Besides, GDP for the city dwellers per capita was73134 RMB (USD10, 708).By October 2009, there were 13521 foreign-invested companies, in which 4, 608 were starting businesses. By the end of December 2008, 33.14 billion foreign currencies were used and the registered capital was USD 54.56 billion. Currently, big enterprises such as Fortune 500’s Intel and Starbucks in America, Germany’s Volkswagen and Bosch GROUP, Japan’s Toshiba and Panasonic, Korea’s LG and STX and Britain’s Telecom are investing in Dalian.
