Making music together

For the first time Taiwan-born installation artist Lin Chi-wei brings Tape Music - his live, interactive sound performance, involving a 204 meters-long "Tape" from which the audience reads or sings to create a continuous, organic and unpredictable soundscape.

Clue in to kung fu moves

Hong Kong Culture Festival presents an exhibition on Hakka kung fu, including an archive where stances demonstrated by master teachers were recorded using motion capture devices. Visitors are welcome to test their knack for the martial art through participating in interactive games.

Return of the virtuoso

Internationally acclaimed cello superstar Ma Yo-yo has teamed up with sheng virtuoso Wu Tong. Fans could expect the fusion of Chinese and Western musical traditions in their rendition of Zhao Lin's composition, Duo, a concerto inspired by a Chinese monk's journey in search of Buddhist scriptures.

Glimpses of DPRK

Not So Loud Theatre Company presents Vinalon, a play set inside one of the largest textile manufacturing units in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, as the workers prepare for a visit by the "dear successor". The show promises to dispel some of the commonly-held notions about a culture that remains largely inaccessible.
