Arrow Electronics Inc is a Colorado-based and New York-listed company that ranked 138 on the Fortune 500 list of 2014.

Its business unit, Arrow Asia Pac, operates 62 sales offices, four primary distribution centers and five local warehousing facilities in 13 countries/territories across Asia, in addition to its regional headquarters in Hong Kong.

Providing a full range of semiconductors, passive, electromechanical and connector products from over 260 leading international and local suppliers, Arrow says it serves more than 10,000 original equipment and contract manufacturers and commercial customers in the Asia Pacific.

Last year, Arrow Asia Pac posted revenue of $4.6 billion, up 11 percent from 2013, according to Simon Yu Man-wang, president of Arrow Asia Pac. He came back to the company in 2010 from National Semiconductor, where he served as vice-president and managing director for the Asia Pacific.

Prior to National Semiconductor, Yu had a 21-year career with Arrow's Asia-Pacific business during which he served in a number of critical regional leadership positions.

In his current role, Yu leads the electronics components products and services business for the Asia-Pacific region.

For the first three months of 2015, Arrow Electronics posted a net income of $106.1 million, according to a statement from the company.

First-quarter sales hit $5 billion in 2015, down 2 percent from $5.08 billion in the previous year amid negative impact brought by changes in foreign currency rates.

Michael Long, chairman of Arrow Inc, said: "In the first quarter, our global components and enterprise computing solutions segments both delivered operating income growth and operating margin expansion. Our global components business experienced strong demand in Europe.

"Our focus on the higher value portion of the datacenter resulted in record first-quarter operating income and operating margins for our enterprise computing solutions business."

Arrow Electronics has about 17,000 employees and more than 100,000 customers globally.
