Chteau Ptrus Vintages

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Island Shangri-La invited Mr Olivier Berrouet, directeur technique of the legendary Chteau Ptrus in Bordeaux, France, to co-host an evening wine event at the hotel's Michelin-starred Restaurant Ptrus on March 11. Five of the best Chteau Ptrus vintages ever produced - 1976, 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2001 - in the winery's 174-year old history, will be served during the seven-course dinner. The dinner is priced at HK$16,880 per person and is subject to a 10 per cent service charge. In addition, the hotel is presenting an Anniversary Weekend offer. Italian Food & Carnival

From March 3 to 27, the Osteria Ristorante Italiano restaurant at the Holiday Inn Golden Mile will transform itself into a Venetian Carnival theme with unique costumes, masks, decorations, a special a la carte menu and cocktails. Chef Michele Camolei is preparing dishes including mixed bean soup with small tube pasta, risotto with mashed salami, Trevisan radicchio and Asiago cheese, Wagyu rump steak stewed in Amarone wine sauce and tempting desserts such as Venetian traditional donutsserved with zabaglione gelato. On March 24, a Venetian Carnival dinner will feature a six-course meal while staging an Italian talent performance, a singing and dancing performance, a magic showand living statues.
