HONG KONG: A business forum featuring leading Chinese management thinkers was held in Hong Kong yesterday, where a major book on mainland entrepreneurs was launched.

Li Gang, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong; Bao Yujun, president of all-China Society of Private Economy Research; Chen Xitian, Hong Kong Commercial Daily chief editor and Lou Zhongfu, chairman of Zhejiang Guangsha Group were at the "Management Thinkers and the Future of China" forum, where they exchanged views with businessmen in the private sector in China.

The highlight of the event was the launch of the book, officially translated as "Wise Makes One Omnipotent", which is a sequel to "Dragon Power", published by Hong Kong Commercial Daily in 2005.

The new Book is about private entrepreneur Lou Zhongfu and his business philosophy, revealing a close tie between ideological emancipation and the taking off of the private sector in China.

"It is not only a biography; it is a record of thoughts of the first generation of Chinese private entrepreneurs," said Bao Yujun, adding he was shocked by the stories. "People have the power to create history, and by looking through the story of Lou Zhongfu, readers can see thousands of entrepreneur's spirits."

The book comes up with a fresh new idea called "Industrial Ideologists", describing a group of entrepreneurs who turned their own ideology into profit.

According to the book, the characteristics of industrial ideologists include strong national consciousness, high sensitivity to political policies, and a sense of justice and eagerness for fame.

While sticking to traditional Confucian culture and values, they are also good at finding opportunities in all kinds of social conditions. "Creative", "practical" and "results-oriented", are the best words to describe these businessmen.

"This concept is the essence of the book," said co-author Zhou Jianshun.

"Lou Zhongfu is the best example of the first generation of private entrepreneurs."

However, it was not an easy job to write this book, Song Ronghan, a co-author, told China Daily. "The most difficult part is combining every small bit of raw thoughts of the entrepreneurs and summarizing them into a comprehensive theory or philosophy. It takes time and great effort from writers, editors, and the staff at Zhejiang Guangsha."
