Road death toll falls to lowest in nearly half century
Hong Kong's death toll on the roads last year was 160, the third lowest in the past 49 years and the lowest in Asia, Road Safety Campaign Committee Chairman Lawrence Yu says.
Yu said the road accident fatality rate is the world's seventh lowest.
Noting the number of deaths and severe injuries caused by traffic accidents is falling yearly, he attributed this to the concerted efforts of different sectors of the community and the general public.
