　 Weinan, Shaanxi Province 陕西省渭南市

Located in east part of Shaanxi province, Weinan is a newly developed city in recent years. It dominates Linwei district, two cities of Hancheng and Huayin, and eight counties of Huaxian, Tongguan, Dali, Pucheng, Chengcheng, Baishui, Heyang and Fuping with a population of 5.43 million. In 2008, it has a GDP of 51.7 billion yuan and 9,535 yuan per capita. Weinan has five big apple-production bases, one state-level cotton base and three fish bases. The local industries of energy, chemicals, food, building materials, machineries and medicines develop fast.

渭南是陕西东部的新兴中等城市，东濒黄河，西倚西安，南靠秦岭，北接延安，古有“三秦要道，八省通衢”之称，境内地势以渭河为轴线，划分为南北两山、两塬和中部平川五大地貌类型区。现辖一区（临渭）、两市（韩城、华阴）、八县（华县、潼关、大荔、蒲城、澄城、白水、合阳、富平）和高新技术开发区，110个镇，73个乡，13 个街道办事处，196个乡镇办，180个社区居委会，3221个村委会，17882个村民小组，2008年末全市常住人口 543.07 万人，全市总面积1.31万平方公里。2008年，生产总值达到517.31亿元，创1983年以来新高，人均生产总值9535元。现有西北地区唯一的国家优质小麦基地、陕西省唯一的以秦川牛为主导产业的国家农业科技园，有国家苹果生产百强县5个，有国家优质棉花基地县1个和商品鱼基地县3个。全市现有水果面积200万亩，其中绿色果品面积98万亩，是陕西省最大的绿色果品生产基地。能源、化工、食品、建材、有色、机械、医药等产业发展较快，是陕西乃至全国重要的能源重化工基地。
