　 Jilin, Jilin Province 吉林省吉林市

Jilin City is the second largest prefecture-level city in Jilin Province in China. It has a population of 1,985,000 and a metropolitan area of 3636 square kilometers. Jilin is the only major city with a homologous name to the province which it is located. Jilin City is situated in east-central part of Jilin Province. It boasts rich water and mineral resources, and it is one of cities good for habitation. In 2007, Jilin City’s GDP reached RMB 100.8 billion with a per capita GDP of RMB 23,277.

吉林市是吉林省第二大城市，是国务院批准的历史文化名城、甲级开放城市和全国32个特大城市之一。吉林市位于吉林省中部偏东，幅员面积27120平方公里，其中，市区3636平方公里。截至2007年年末，全市总人口为432.4万人，有35个少数民族。截至2007年，吉林市已经成为以化工、电力等行业为主，基础雄厚、门类齐全的现代化工业城市，全年实现地区生产总值1008亿元，全市人均生产总值达到23277元。
