Robert Downey Jr. forgets high times

Robert Downey Jr. can't remember what taking drugs feels like.

The 45-year-old actor - who has a history of substance abuse problems but has been sober since 2001 - admits he is occasionally surrounded by people taking narcotics but never indulges himself.

Speaking about a scene in his new movie 'Due Date' - which sees his character smoke marijuana - he said: "I don't even remember what it's like, so I would have to be manufacturing some sort of thing.

"I mean, I see it around town. I smell it all the time. But I don't even know what's it's like to be stoned anymore."

The 'Iron Man' star - who was arrested several times over drug-related offences during his hellraising days - has learnt to accept his reputation and is no longer bothered when he is searched at airports.

He said: "They know they are not going to have any fun anymore.

"Their time has come and gone. They blew a golden opportunity.

"I love cops. I love their dogs."
