Hugh Grant offered to buy a bar full of students a drink.
The 'Love Actually' actor was invited for a formal dinner at the prestigious Oxford University - where he attended in the late 70s - and afterwards decided to unwind at the New College Bar, where many youngsters were celebrating the end of their exams.
At one point, the 49-year-old star handed over his credit card so he could get everyone a beverage but was told it was a cash-only bar.
So Hugh - who also showed off his skills on the pool table - got out a £50 note to buy 10 tickets to a local club before handing them out.
One student told the university publication, Cherwell: "After dinner he headed off with staff for a private drink but he got bored and left. That's when he came down to the bar. He was loving it."
Although most of the students were young enough to be his children, Hugh has never let age get in his way before and recently revealed he works out with "attractive young girls" to keep him feeling youthful.
He said: "I've actually started to do Pilates to try and keep me young. I go to a place in London where there are all these attractive young girls and just the one sad, hung-over old man, who is me. I don't know if it's working. I saw a picture of myself in a newspaper the other day and the caption said I looked every one of my 49 years and 'very tired and portly'. Portly! I was crushed."
