NEW YORK – Another "American Idol" alum is headed to Broadway.
Jordin Sparks will join the cast of the Tony-winning musical "In the Heights" this summer.
Producers Kevin McCollum and Jeffrey Seller said Monday the 2007 "American Idol" winner will play Nina Rosario in the musical for a 12-week engagement Aug. 19 through Nov. 14.
The 20-year-old Sparks has had such pop hits as "Tattoo," "No Air" and "One Step at a Time," as well as the dance success "S.O.S. (Let the Music Play)."
