Eva Longoria Parker "didn't know" Nicollette Sheridan had a problem with Marc Cherry.
The 'Desperate Housewives' actress is astonished by her former co-star's claims the show's creator slapped her, resulting in her getting written out of the series after complaining, because she was not on set at the time of the alleged incident in September 2008.
She said: "He's funny and sweet. and probably couldn't harm a fly. He's just so sweet. I do know they had a thing on set. I guess it was a couple of years ago.
"Nicollette's a sweet girl, too. I'm really confused about this whole thing."
The actress also admitted she is concerned the allegations - for which Nicollette is suing the TV executive for $20 million - will "tarnish" the reputation of the show.
She added in an interview with Ryan Seacrest on his KISS FM radio show: "It's a big lawsuit, it's a big deal, I love the show so much that I would hate for anything to really tarnish the reputation of the show. I really would like all of it to go away."
The 35-year-old brunette beauty - who plays Gabrielle Solis - hasn't spoken to Nicollette since her departure, but would like to get back in touch with her.
She said: "I haven't talked to her since she left the show. we used to be really friendly when she was here, but she was kind of on vacation for a while, so I haven't seen her around in Los Angeles. I would love to see her to find out if everything is OK."
Nicollette - who portrayed maneater Edie Britt in the show - filed a lawsuit against Cherry at Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (05.04.10) which alleged assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination.
The 46-year-old actress' departure was announced in February 2009, and she was killed-off from the programme in series five, when her alter-ego died in a car accident.
