Hong Kong actor/singer Edison Chen will tonight talk publicly for the first time about the nude photo scandal involving him and several Asian actresses.
In his exclusive interview with Anjali Rao, host of CNN's Talk Asia, Chen reveals that more than 1,300 pictures were taken, all of them with the women's consent.
They included actress Cecilia Cheung, who recently criticized Chen for not apologizing to her. He says he held back at the request of the police and adds: "I was a victim, too. I was hurt by this a lot."
Chen also says when the story broke in 2008 he was in Hong Kong and terrified about going anywhere, on one occasion even traveling in the boot of a taxi. "I spent 15 minutes in the trunk. I didn't even know if I had enough oxygen," he says.
Chen said the photos had been copied from his laptop without his permission after he had taken it to a shop for repairs. Police later charged several people in connection with the episode.
The interview can be viewed at www.cnn.com/talkasia after its airing at 20:30 China time tonight.
