Angelina Jolie is looking for an apartment in New York City.

The 'Changeling' actress was seen inspecting a property in Manhattan's uptown Washington Heights neighbourhood yesterday afternoon (17.02.09) - just weeks after she signed the lease on a $60 million Long Island mansion.

The 33-year-old star wore a black trench coat, boots and sunglasses and spent about 25 minutes inside the building. Her partner Brad Pitt and their six children were not with her.

A source said: "The building had work permits and it seemed like they were probably being remodeled for buyers' taste. The building is pretty impressive. It's really nice."

Angelina - who is nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards which take place on Sunday (22.02.09) - was in high spirits, laughing and waving to fans.

The source said: "She was nice. She waved to the cameras, said, 'Hey guys.' " New York will be Angelina and Brad's home for the next few months, while Angelina films thriller 'Salt'.
