Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe

Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe has checked himself into rehab.

The 28-year-old, who's dating Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, 21, entered an undisclosed clinic for alcohol abuse earlier this week.

'On Monday 19 March, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues,' his representative told the New York Post. 'He realised he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately.'

According to the newspaper, the actor had just had a weekend long binge at the swanky Mondrian hotel in LA before he checked in. Sources said that he was acting 'very angry' and 'out of control'.
