Britney Spears sells New York house Updated: 2006-07-17 11:47
Britney Spears is sold her Manhattan apartment that she rarely used for 4
million dollars. The property is in the historic Silk Building in the NoHo
section of the city.
The four-level, 4,400-square-foot pad in the famed Silk Building, which she
originally put on the market in July 2004 for just under $6 million, has just
gone to contract for $4 million, according to sources familiar with the deal.
She paid $3 million for the place in 2002, after it was listed for $4.85
million just before 9/11.
The apartment was previously where Rolling Stone Keith Richards crashed and,
after that, Russell Simmons called it his crib. The Silk Building has also been
home to Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, and Cher. Adam Modlin of The Modlin Group,
perhaps best known as Alex Rodriguez¡¯s broker, had the listing but had no
comment.
According to contactmusic.com, Spears is set to bring out her Mona Lisa
character for another video being filmed at her Malibu, California, home. Spears
is reportedly funding the video herself and will accompany a brand new single in
which she fires back at her critics.
A source says: "This is all so top secret I don't even think Britney's record
company knows about this project."
