If you've been waiting with bated breath for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to say, "I do" (they say the third time's the charm), you may have missed the big moment. The National Enquirer is reporting that the couple took part in a secret Scientology wedding while on a Caribbean cruise last July.

Tom and Katie's secret wedding

Tom and Katie - dressed in white - exchanged vows before a Scientology chaplain on a ship called the Freewinds. During the ceremony, the couple gave each other rings with the triangular Scientology symbol on them. The rings have not been photographed because Tom and Katie only wear them to church functions.

Once the ceremony was completed, Mr. & Mrs. Cruise walked over a bridge that represented their journey to “total freedom.” John Travolta and Kirstie Alley were said to have been present for the “journey.” Katie’s parents, however, were not. The Holmeses will be at the couple’s official nuptials, which are set to take place later this year, however.

Though a rep for the couple denied they were married, a secret wedding would explain one thing: Katie’s pregnancy. Katie was said to have been waiting for marriage to lose her virginity. A July wedding would have allowed her to stay true to her pledge and still have a baby bulge now - eight months later.
