Sugar heals wounds

Research shows sprinkling sugar on wounds could cure painful infections, the Daily Mail reported Thursday. The traditional African remedy is being trialed in British hospitals after a study led by a senior nurse raised in Zimbabwe. His 6-month study involved 21 patients whose wounds had not responded to conventional treatment. It showed that pouring granulated sugar onto wounds can kill the bacteria that prevents healing and causes chronic pain.
