The war in Iraq is wrong for many reasons I will not bother to argue about.
But there are reasons why I choose to stay silent most of the time over Iraq issue of right or wrong. When U.S invaded Iraq, my thoughts were more about how this benefit China in terms of its national interest.
I don't complain because even though i don't like the war. It does give US much more things to do and shifts its attention away from China political business.
The relationship of China-US has become more stable "partly" because US cannot afford to take more hot spots as they can't go shopping for another crises (or have the time and energy to do so). This is good for China that needs the time and breathing space to grow and solve its own problems. This is by no means that I'm against US, but it is the political gaming of the governments, which i see all too often and they are for their national interest.
Although Iraq war was in my view not a good thing to do, i prefer to stay neutral as long as China is not affected that much.
