Bae Yong Joon comes to Beijing with "April Snow"

South Korean screen heartthrob Bae Yong Joon attended a special premiere of his and director Hur Jin-Ho's latest film "April Snow" at Beijing Exhibition Hall Saturday afternoon.

Almost all the seats were taken, even though the ticket prices ran as high at 300 yuan each.　

"I've seen all of his films, and especially like his TV drama Hotelier," said a thirty-something woman from Shanghai. "I’ve come to Beijing from Shanghai with another friend and staying at the same Beijing hotel where Bae Yong Joon is staying. We like not only his good-looking appearance, but also his personality." 　　

"We've established a fan club at Baidu.com, which has a large amount of fans around China," the club's organizer introduced, "Though Bae Yong Joon's acting performance is quite outstanding, yet we hope he will be an even better actor, more than just an idol. We've learned that he wants to be a director in the future, and we will support him as well." 　　

Chinese fans weren't the only to welcome the star to Beijing. As a major part of the fan-base on hand were organized groups from Japan and South Korea, most of them adult woman from 30 to 60 years of age. 　　

After seeing the anticipated film withincessantflashes of cameras from everywhere, Bae Yong Joon finally appeared with greetings in simple Chinese, which brought deafening screams from fans by the stage. 　　

In his remarks, he gave praise to the performance of lead actress Son Ye-jin and his pleasure of working with the director Hur Jin-Ho. 　　

When asked about his role playing a husband who faces betrayal and encounters a love dilemma in the film, Bae said that it would be quite tiring if it happened in real life. 　　

Later, a representative of Chinese fans gave three presents to the lead actor and director, namely a jade dragon, golden-embroidered vase and two Tang-style suits. Bae Yong Joon quickly put off his own coat and tried the red suit, which won him another tide of screaming.

A sexual scene between the two lead roles is one of the highlights in the film, but it was cut from the screened version, leaving sighs and laughs at that moment. A DVD of the full edition ff the film off the street by a vendor might be more possible to satisfy your curiosity. 　　

The film began with a car accident of a wife and a husband from two different families who are having an affair. During their coma in hospital, their other partners discovered their spouses unusual relationship, which made them fall into anger and deeper sorrow than the accident itself. With each sharing the same misfortune, the cheated-on husband and wife come to know each other, get closer, and finally fall into love with each other. Though their lovers betrayed them, they find themselves in the same dilemma.
