Puppy 是指小狗、幼犬或稚嫩的年轻人。所以puppy-love 就是指少男少女间短暂的爱情或初恋：immature infatuation of an adolescent, sometimes a young boy’s or girl’s love for especially an older person of the opposite sex, which does not last long or lead to sexual relations.
例如：He’s mad about his biology teacher, but it’s only puppy-love.他迷恋着生物学老师，但那只不过是孩子的一片痴情罢了。
