"Toothsome"是一个很有用的词，它最早出现于16世纪，有两种意思。第一种意思是 “pleasing to the taste; delicious; appetizing”。这层意思源于tooth这个字的一种特殊词义 “the sense of taste; tastiness.”
后缀-some一般用于名词变做形容词，表达的意思通常是 “like; tending to; characterized by a certain quality, condition, action, etc.” 用这个模式来套用"toothsome"一词，也就成了刺激胃口的，可口的。
