Dress code

我刚到美国的时候，利用课余时间在一家餐馆打工，主要负责接听电话。

有一次，我接到一个电话，对方问道：“ What's your‘dress code’”？开始我以为我没有听清楚，接着我以为对方应该是要询问我们餐馆的address（地址）和 zip code（邮编），于是我就告诉了对方我们餐厅的地址。

谁知，她先是愣了一下，然后向我解释说“dress code”指的是餐馆对顾客服装上的特别要求，因为在美国比较高级的餐馆要求顾客穿着正式的服饰，否则就会被拒之门外的。
