"custom," "practice," and "habit" all mean a way of acting that has become fixed through repetition. "custom" applies to an act associated with a person or a group of people for so long that it almost becomes a rule, like the chinese custom of family reunion on the mid-autumn festival. "practice" suggests an act performed regularly and usually by choice, like making a practice of going to the park every sunday. "habit" suggests doing something without thinking about it because one has done it so often, like reading the language tips every day out of habit.
