初中时学到的英文lots of是“许多”的意思，所以初看到路旁插了个 Lots For Sale的牌子时，我直觉就是有很多东西要卖，于是兴冲冲地跟着指示开去，以为可以捡到一些便宜货，不想开到后一看却只是荒地一片。后来才知道，原来Lots for sale的Lots指的是空地的意思，和“许多”是八竿子搭不上关系。
