Updated: 2005-11-10 10:55

A hospital for Beijing residents on low incomes will open at the end of the month to help migrant workers and other low wage earners.

The Beijing Shangdi Hospital in Haidian District will establish a medical aid centre and birth centre for poverty-stricken people and migrant workers.

Delivering a baby at the hospital will cost 1,000 yuan (US$123), half or one third of the cost in other hospitals.
