James lifts Cavaliers to victory over streaking Spurs

San Antonio shot 51 percent from the field to 49 percent for the Cavs, but the Spurs committed 18 turnovers to just five for Cleveland. The Spurs were also just 14-for-24 from the line.

Tim Duncan led San Antonio with 19 points and 10 rebounds, but he scored just three points in the final quarter.

Manu Ginobili and Beno Udrih both added 12 points for the Spurs.

The Spurs (40-11) dropped into a first place tie with Dallas in the Southwest Division as the Mavericks routed the New York Knicks 100-72 at home.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points and Josh Howard added 14 points for the Mavericks.

Channing Frye scored 10 points and had 14 rebounds and Jalen Rose added 13 points for the Knicks.

In Charlotte, Zach Randolph scored 21 points as the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Bobcats 91-83.

In Minneapolis, Mike James scored 27 points as the Toronto Raptors beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 98-94.

Kevin Garnett scored 23 points and had 19 rebounds for the Timberwolves.

In Oklahoma City, David West scored 19 points as the New Orleans Hornets beat the Washington Wizards 97-96.

Gilbert Arenas scored 43 points for the Wizards in a losing cause.
