China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) announced on Thursday that China's film industry produced 260 movies for 4.8 billion Yuan in revenue in 2005, Chengdu Daily reports.

Both are record highs for the industry. In 2005, China's film industry recorded 2 billion Yuan and 1.65 billion Yuan in box office revenues in domestic and overseas markets, respectively, according to SARFT film division director Tong Gang.

TV broadcasts of the films added another 1.15 billion Yuan in revenues. According to SARFT, high ticket price is the major bottleneck for China's movie industry.
