The Yunnan outbreak, near Chuxiong city about 300 kilometers (190 miles) from Vietnam, had killed 2,500 birds, and 99,400 were subsequently culled, the China Daily reported.

The two other outbreaks were in the regions of Xinjiang and Ningxia, both located in China's northwest, a part of the country that has already been severely hit by this autumn's outbreak.

Bird flu has killed more than 60 people in Southeast Asia since 2003. China reported its first human fatality this month.

Throughout the nation, a growing number of cities are adopting extra measures to monitor for possible infections in people.

Several hospitals in Beijing are now checking the temperatures of people entering to ensure their temperature is normal. If not, they are whisked away for further inspection, according to the paper.
