The Macau 4th East Asian Games Organising Committee (MEAGOC) held 14 test events on the weekend of September 17-18. Seven sports were featured simultaneously on Saturday and the flow of information and the event administration proved to be successful.

On the second day, the rowing test was cancelled due to thunder and the typhoon warning, but the rest were completed successfully.

Being the key element of the test events, the Games Information Diffusion System (GIDS) and various data such as the medal table, athletes' name list and results successfully arrived at the Media Centre, commentator's room and LED. The test events ensured the smooth management of the scoring system in all venues, including the collection and distribution of information. Although the GIDS met with minor technical problems in the early stages, after some adjustments and repair the system was soon retrieved.

The test events produced fine results in every aspect regarding the flow of the competition. Staff operation and competition timing were all under control, and the earlier specific training of volunteers and staff provided by MEAGOC produced a very positive effect.

In addition, MEAGOC announced the cancellation of the rowing test events, due to be held at 10am on Sunday, due to the typhoon and thunder warning.
