Sino-Bangladeshi relations

On November 25, 2004, Assistant Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang attended the opening ceremony of Bangladesh Food Festival upon invitation as the guest of honor. Li delivered a speech, congratulating the smooth commencement of Food Festival. He said that the China-Bangladesh friendship goes back to ancient times and the two peoples hold fraternal friendliness. In recent years, while consolidating and strengthening political ties, China and Bangladesh also conduct very active friendly exchanges in economy, culture and education. This Bangladesh Food Festival held in Beijing is conducive for the Chinese people to better understand Bangladesh's culture custom and to further strengthening the friendship between the two peoples and it is an activity of much significance. Bangladeshi Ambassador to China Ashfaqur Rahman indicated that the Bangladeshi government attaches importance to relations with China and would like to actively push for bilateral cooperation in various fields. He introduced local conditions and customs of Bangladesh and welcomed more Chinese friends to have sightseeing tours in his country.

This Food Festival was held by the Bangladeshi Embassy in China and is a major activity of introducing the Bangladeshi culture to China.
