All eight coal miners trapped for almost 20 hours in a collapsed coal mine in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi Province, were recently rescued, China News Service reports.

The eight workers involved in the accident - which took place on May 4 - have already been discharged from hospital.

Several mining accidents have occurred in Shanxi this spring.

The provincial government has issued an emergency order to strengthen safety in the province's coal mines.
