A girl's fears for her pill-popping mother's health only served to land the concerned youngster in hospital herself, Beijing News reports.

Seven-year-old Tong Tong's pleas to her mother to stop taking weight-reduction pills all fell on deaf ears, so the youngster then decided to see if the medicine would have any ill effects on her. She was rushed to hospital by her frightened mother, after the girl started to vomit copiously.

But every cloud has a silver lining, with Tong Tong's mother deciding to stop taking the tablets.
