To soothe the lonely heart of a lioness in the wake of her husband's death days earlier, a zoo in Wuhan of Hubei Province tried to arrange a suitor on Valentine's Day, but the arrangement was met with resistance, Chutian Jinbao reports.

Saisai seemed depressed after "husband" Zhongzhong died, so the animal keepers tried to move in a male lion, Songsong, with her.

However, Songsong refused to step in until the animal keepers pushed him in with force. What's more, the lonely widow seemed also angry with the intruder and kept roaring at him.

According to animal-keeper Du Youshun, the two need time to adapt to each other.
