A college student in Beijing Communications University spent 10 years compiling two Beijing guides detailing public transport, bus stops and how to change buses in the country's capital, Beijing Youth Daily reports.

Zhang Yushi, a sophomore majoring in transport projects, wants to publish his 100,000-word work with a detailed record of the city's complicated transportation network.

Zhang, who has been interested in traffic matters since childhood, made it a personal project to study the layout of public transport in Beijing involving its 18 districts and counties.

The two books are regarded as more useful than the ones produced by the local transportation department.
