Online number causes chaos

A third-year college student is warning others to exercise caution when revealing their cellphone numbers over the Internet, citing her own case as an example, Shanghai Youth Daily reports.

Since Monday afternoon, Gao has been bombarded with porn messages and calls from singles agencies around the country.

During one call, Gao learned that her cellphone number had been publicized by a netizen called "Love" who described Gao as a young woman looking for a one-night stand.

Gao was so distressed and annoyed by the calls that she has decided to change her number.
