China hopes peace, stability for Kosovo: FM

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said here on Monday that China hopes the situation in Kosovo can move on in the direction of peace and stability.

Kong made the remarks when asked to comment on the death of Rugova, leader of the provisional institutions of the self-government of Kosovo.

Kong expressed China's condolences over Rugova's demise.

Rugova died of lung cancer at the age of 61 in Kosovo capital Pristina on Jan. 21.
