However, everything changed on the day of their two-year dating anniversary.
Liu's gum kept bleeding, so she went to the local People's Hospital. Three days
later, the diagnosis came out - malignant leukemia. Now, likely even with timely
treatment, only 180 days remains for Liu.

The couple prays at the wedding ceremony on
Tuesday, wishing love can work out a miracle.
   | "I felt abandoned by the whole world at that time.
I didn't want to become a burden on him, and so tried to stay away from him,"
she said. Liu told one of Huang's friends about her condition as a way of
breaking up with him.
But Huang found Liu a week later, and said to her, "Our love will conquer all
the difficulties along the way. Life is short, so let's cherish it together."
 Cheap rings for priceless love
To take good care of his girlfriend, Huang gave up his job and stayed at home
to boil medicine, cook, and tell stories for her. One night last October, he
bought a pair of rings for 20 yuan (US$2.42).
To show his sincerity, he even set the date of marriage to Tuesday (January
10,). He made up his mind to marry his beloved one while her situation was still
stable. For her part, Liu went to the hospital, specially demanding that the
doctors delay her chemotherapy until after her wedding. Like other women in
love, Liu also wants to be a beautiful bride.
 A perfect wedding
"Aili, will you marry me?" asked the bridegroom, kneeling on his knee and
holding flowers in one hand.
"I need to think it over," Liu joked, face red.
However, Huang did not give her the chance. Taking his lovely bride in arms,
he slipped into the wedding car among the others' chorus of best wishes.
During the ceremony, the bride and groom exchanged their keepsakes and love
for each other, instead of wedding rings.
