Traffic accident kills 8, injures 19 in S. China city

Eight people were confirmed dead and 19 others injured in a vehicle collision accident on Wednesday noon in Shaoguan City, south China's Guangdong Province, the city government sources said on Thursday.

At around 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a truck ran head-on into a bus on the Likeng section of the national highway No. 105 in Xinfeng County of Shaoguan. The accident killed four people on the spot, and another four died later in hospital, with 19 others injured. Three of the 19 are in critical condition, the sources added.
Cause of the accident is being investigated.
