Two US pilots killed in helicopter crash in Iraq

Two U.S. pilots were killed in a helicopter crash in western Baghdad on Monday evening, the military said on Tuesday.

"Two pilots assigned to Task Force Baghdad, were killed when their helicopter crashed in western Baghdad on December 26," the US military said in a statement.

"There was no hostile fire involved," the brief statement added.

The deaths has brought to more than 2,165 the number of U.S. military personnel who have died in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003.
